2 c. vegetables, cooked just until firm (your choice) 2 slices bacon, minced 1/4 c. cooling liquid from vegetables 1/2 c. sugar 1/4 c. vinegar 1/4 tsp. salt 2 Tbsp. onion 1 Tbsp. celery 1 Tbsp. canola (or other vegetable) oil 1 tsp. cornstarch, dissolved Fry bacon. Add sugar, vinegar and liquid. Add vegetables and simmer uncovered or without a lid about 15 mins.. When cooked, add cornstarch.
