Recipes from Cajun Country :: Cajun Vegetable Side Dishes
1 med. cabbage, cut up 1 large onion, chopped fine 1 green bell pepper, finely chopped 1 can tomato sauce 1/2 pound ground beef 1/2 pound ground pork 2 c. water 1 1/2 (one and one-half) c. rice 2 Tbsp. canola (or other vegetable) oil Put oil in a baking dish and layer half of the raw cabbage, raw rice, two ground meats mixed together, onions and pepper. Pour 1/2 can tomato sauce over layers. Repeat with another layer of same ingredients. Pour remaining sauce, salt and pepper and 2 c. water over layers. Bake for 1 hour at 350 degrees fahrenheit.
