4 green tomatoes, cut 1/4-in. thick 1 tsp. onion salt 1/2 tsp. pepper 1/4 c. cornmeal 1/2 c. drippings Sprinkle and distribute tomatoes with onion salt and pepper. Dredge in cornmeal. Fry in drippings until browned.
