Recipes from Cajun Country :: Cajun Vegetable Side Dishes
2 lbs. finely diced cabbage 1 lb. finely chopped bacon 1 med. onion 2 Tbsp. red pepper flakes 1/2 tsp. salt (optional) 1/2 tsp. black pepper Fry bacon until crisp and well browned. Add chopped onion and stir until limp or soft. Add pepper flakes, cabbage, salt and pepper, stirring well so that all the cabbage is coated. Cover and cook over low heat until cabbage is limp or soft and tender.
