Cutting or Chopping Boards - A Useful Kitchen Device |

A cutting board is a strong and durable board used for cutting materials on it. Cutting boards, usually made up of wood or plastic, are easily found in modern as well as traditional kitchens. Cutting or chopping boards are used to cut meat, vegetables and other food items on it.
Nowadays, cutting boards are also made up of steel, glass and marble materials. One should go for that type of cutting board which suits his or her needs. Below are the precautions to be taken while using cutting boards:
Since cutting boards are used to cut many different items on it, it is very important to keep the surface of the board clean and hygienic.
A very dilute bleach solution is best for disinfecting cutting boards.
It is advised to have a separate chopping board for cutting raw meat
Wooden chopping boards should never be placed in the dishwasher, or left immersed for long periods, as the wood or glue may be affected.
Cutting boards should be treated when they start looking dry, to prevent cracking. |
