2 c. self-rising flour 1/2 c. brown sugar 1/3 c. molasses 1 c. milk 1 tsp. ground cloves 1 tsp. cinnamon 1 tsp. ginger 1/2 tsp. grated nutmeg Pin. of salt Combine all ingredients to a smooth paste. Butter an 8 x 3-in. cake tin. Fill with dough and bake for about 1 hour at 300 degrees fahrenheit. Allow to cool. Keep in a tin for 24 hours before serving.
