Chakla-Belan

Chakla-belan is used to make many of the favorite Indian breads and some of the recipes it is used for include:

• Paratha
• Bhatura
• Poori
• Roti

Chakla-Belan is two different utensils used to make breads. Chakla is usually a round flat board type made of marble that the bread is rolled out onto to make various breads. Belan is the rolling pin of the Indian culture. Together these two utensils make their breads and other dough type recipes. Many of the breads made are flat breads and they serve with vegetables and curries they scoop with the flat breads kind of like dips. These are served mainly on holidays.
