Pulses (Daal)
Pulses are what daal is made from and you have many recipes to
use it in including:
• Yellow Daal
• Split pea Soup
• Daal Saag
• Dahi Vada
• Bean and Cabbage Soup
• Chickpeas and potato salad
• Pea and Potato Hotspot
Dried or fresh you can can them yourself and they will keep for
many months. Pulses are the most inexpensive food to have on hand
that can be used in a variety of ways. Keep in an airtight container
and in a dark space. This way they will keep their color longer.
If you buy them canned, you can store them. This way you will
always have some close at hand to open, drain, and toss in your
favorite meal. Simple and easy for a fast meal when your in a
hurry.
