India is also known as the "Land Of Spices". There is no other country in the world, that produces as many varieties of spices, as India produces. At present, India produces almost 2.5 million tonnes of different spices valued at approximately 3 billion US $, and holds the top position in the world. This is just because of the varying climates, ranging from tropical to sub-tropical to temperate-almost all spices are grown in this country. At least one spice is grown, in almost all of the 25 states and 7 union territories of India.
