Chives
Native to Asia, chives are the smallest species of the onion
family that comes from the reed-like stems of a bulbous lily plant,
commonly found in seasoning blending of fine herbs.
Although, the most popular varieties of chives are cultivated
in China and California, they are one of the common herbs found
in the Indian cuisine, especially in the northeast region including:

Chives are used in cold soups, cream and cheese sauces, stir-fried
items, potatoes, dips, also used as a garnish. However, one of

include chives, is the famous cantaloupe salad.
With 5,000 years of culinary tradition, chives can be found in
fresh stalks, dried, or frozen, with an invariable garlic-onion
flavor, being a good source of Vitamin A.
