Coriander seeds (Dhania)

Coriander seeds come form the coriander plant, which is soft, hairless plant that can grow up to 50mm high. The seeds from this plant are dried and are used in many Indian dishes. For example:

• Aids Digestion
• Help Ulcers
• Indian Curries
• Gin
• American cigarettes
• Sausages
• Sea Food
• Omelets
• Potatoes
• Cheese
• Chutneys
• Pickling

The Coriander seed has a flavor of sage and of lemon. This spice can go great with the dishes listed above and there are recipes that can be found online. Coriander seeds are not interchangeable with the spice cilantro. These two spices are from the same plant, but that does not mean you can use in place of the other.
