Recipe for cooking korean barbecued beef

1 lb. beef boneless top loin or sirloin steak 1/4 c. soy sauce 3 Tbsp. sugar 2 Tbsp. sesame or canola (or other vegetable) oil 1/4 tsp. pepper 3 scallions, finely chopped 2 cloves garlic, chopped Trim fat from beef; cut beef diagonally across grain into 1/8-in. slices. Mix remaining ingredients; stir in beef until well coated. Cover and refrigerate 1/2 an hour. Drain beef; stir-fry in 10-in. skillet or wok over med. heat until light brown, 2 to 3 mins. Serve beef with hot cooked rice. Yields 4 servings.
