1 1/2 lb. (one and a half lbs. ) lean ground beef
1 med. onion, finely chopped (1/2 c.)
2 to 3 jalapeƱo chiles, seeded and finely chopped
1 clove garlic, finely chopped
Brush grill rack with canola (or other vegetable) oil. Heat charcoal or gas grill for direct heat.
Mix all ingredients. Shape mixture into 6 patties, about 1/2 in. thick.
Grill patties uncovered or without a lid about 4 in. from MED. heat 8 to 12 mins., turning once, until no longer pink in center and juice is clear.
Yields 6 servings.
