Recipe for cooking tamarind balls

1 c. tamarind pulp with seeds
1 1/2 (one and one-half) c. firmly packed light brown sugar
2 c. cooked camote, mashed
1/4 tsp. fine salt
1 c. syrup (1 c. sugar to 1/2 c. water)
Yellow cellophane for wrapping

Mix all ingredients on a thick pan and cook over med. heat. Stir continuously while cooking. Cook until it becomes thick and sticky. Cool.

Shape into desired size balls, then roll in sugar. Wrap in cellophane.
